Qualification

• 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent (Army Wing).
• 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics for Air Force/Naval Wings and for 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme (Indian Naval Academy).
• Candidates appearing in 12th class can also apply (must submit proof of passing by 10-12-2026).
• Candidates appearing in 11th class are NOT eligible.
• Candidates must be UNMARRIED.

How to Apply

• Visit official website https://upsconline.nic.in
• Create Account and generate Universal Registration Number (URN).
• Fill Common Application Form (CAF) with personal details.
• Upload recent photograph and capture live photo.
• Fill Examination Specific Module with preferences for Services (Army/Navy/Air Force in order of preference 1 to 4).
• Upload required documents and Photo ID details.
• Select Examination Centre (first-apply-first-allot basis with ceiling on most centres).
• Pay application fee online (if applicable) through Credit/Debit Card/UPI/Net Banking.
• Submit application and note down Application Number.
• Download and save e-Admit Card when available.

Selection Process

• Stage 1 – Written Examination: Conducted by UPSC. Paper-I: Mathematics (300 marks, 2.5 hours) [for IMA/INA/AFA only]; Paper-II: General Ability Test (600 marks, 2.5 hours) — Part A: English (200 marks) & Part B: General Knowledge (400 marks). Total Written Marks: 900. Objective type questions with negative marking (0.33 per wrong).
• Stage 2 – SSB Interview: 900 marks. Two-Stage SSB Selection — Stage I (OIR tests & PP&DT) and Stage II (Interview, GTO tasks, Psychology tests, Conference) over 4 days. Air Force candidates require CPSS for Flying branch.
• Stage 3 – Medical Examination: Special Medical Board at designated AFMS Hospitals. Final merit based on Written + SSB subject to medical fitness and eligibility. Selection done separately for male and female candidates as per vacancies.

Physical & Medical Standards

• Age Limit (as on 01-07-2027): Minimum 16.5 years (Born not later than 01-07-2010) and Maximum 19.5 years (Born not earlier than 01-07-2007).
• Height: Male minimum 157 cm; Female minimum 152 cm; For Flying Branch minimum 162.5 cm. Relaxation for certain regions/groups as specified.
• Weight proportionate to height and age as per charts. Chest, hearing, dental, visual standards and other medical norms as prescribed.
• Visual Standards, Dental Standards, Tattoos and other specific medical criteria laid down in notification.

Pay Scale / Stipend

• During Training at NDA (3 years): Fixed stipend of Rs. 56,100/- per month (Level 10).
• After Commissioning: Lieutenant Pay Level 10 – Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500/- per month; subsequent ranks and pay levels as applicable.
• Additional allowances and benefits as mentioned in the notification (MSP, DA, TPTA, Dress Allowance, Children Education Allowance, etc.).
