Gauhati High Court MTS, Computer Assistant & Other Recruitment 2025 Notification Overview
Judicial Assistant: Must be a Graduate from a recognised University.
Multi Tasking Staff (MTS): Class-VIII standard (Note: candidates who have passed HSSLC or above shall not be eligible).
Chauffeur (Driver): Minimum educational qualification of Class X (HSLC) from a recognised Board.
Computer Assistant: Diploma/Certificate in Computer Operation/Application of at least 6 months duration with training in data entry, DTP, basic hardware maintenance, LAN setup, application software, web designing etc.
Candidates must satisfy post-specific physical/other requirements as notified.

Selection Process
Stage-I: Written Examination (Objective type, 120 marks, 2 hours) testing English language, general knowledge, general aptitude, reasoning and Assamese language (20 marks).
The Assamese language segment is of qualifying nature — candidates must secure at least 40% (8/20) in this segment to qualify; marks in this segment are not counted for merit.
Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
Stage-II: Interview / Viva-Voce: 20 marks. Candidates in ratio 1:3 (three times vacancies) will be called for interview/document verification.
Candidates must secure at least 60% (12/20) in Interview/Viva-Voce to be considered qualified.
Final selection will be on total marks of Written Examination and Interview. Tie-breaker: higher written exam marks, then seniority by age.
Pay Scale
Judicial Assistant: Pay band PB-2 Scale ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 (Grade Pay ₹8,700) + allowances as admissible under rules.
MTS: ₹12,000 – ₹52,000 (Pay Band: 2) with Grade Pay ₹3,900 + allowances as admissible.
